My First Mother's Day Weekend Top 5

I had an amazing First Mother's Day and I hope all my family and friends did as well! This day was different this year, because instead of celebrating just my mom, I was celebrated too. Everyone made it so special for me! It's bittersweet that my First Mother's day is coming to an end, but it was fun and I wanted to share the top 5 things that happened!

We went to my parent's house and all my family was there: little sister Lori, older sister Melissa (pregnant with identical twin girls!), Brother-in-law Jeff, and niece Hannah. It was so fun celebrating with everyone!

All the Girls!

Top 5:

1. On my first Mother's Day I was up partying until 4 am...just kidding. However, the 4 am part is still true! Avery was up coughing pretty much the whole night, of course she was still asleep, but sleeping in the same room as us, it kept ME up (not Kyle), but don't you worry, I made sure he knew everytime I got out of bed to check on her! UGH! I finally kicked Kyle out of the bed and put Avery in the bed with me so I could prop her up and then I remembered at 4 am that a nurse once told me to put baby vicks rub on their feet and it would do the trick. Sure enough, it worked and we finally got some sleep! Don't worry, Avery isn't sick, we've brought her to the doctor twice in the last month and they said it's just allergies!

2. Avery is officially crawling all over the place! On my First Mother's Day weekend Avery put those knees and feet under her and crawled! No more rolling around or army crawling, we can't turn our backs for a minute with this wild woman!

3. About 2 weeks ago we started giving Avery cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts, etc. She LOVES it all. But, on my First Mother's Day weekend, Avery actually fed herself a puff. It was precious!!

4. On my First Mother's Day weekend we brought Avery swimming. We have a water baby! She L-O-V-E-D it! Splashing, kicking, yelling, talking! Avery was definitely a show off!

5. My family made my first Mother's Day weekend so special! The cards and presents were wonderful and meant so much to me! Kyle did a fabulous job making it special too! He bought me a new cell phone with internet (I've been wanting for awhile) and a gift from Avery. It was so neat...he had her handprint framed for me, sadly enough I didn't have this already! Mother's Day morning he even had Avery hand me a card, it was so sweet, even if she tried to eat it!

Being a mother is so rewarding and there is no feeling like it. A mother's love is so precious and I thank god everyday for my angel baby! I want to thank my mom for being such a wonderful role-model and a best friend. I hope I can be just as fabulous as you!
