Where did this year go?

Still trying to get a "good" picture!

I cannot believe it's November and this year is almost over! Our little girl is growing up so fast. It's so exciting all the new stuff she learns, she really is a SPONGE! Even though I teach students with special needs, I think it is so rewarding teaching Avery and would LOVE to teach all babies, they absorb everything and it's truly amazing how fast they learn!

Talking....What else would she be doing? Okay, maybe running away from us!

Avery has moved up to the next class at her school and we were very hesitant. I thought no way is she ready to eat at a table in a chair or sleep in a cot. She's still a baby....but she has proved us wrong. The other babies in the class look huge compared to Avery, but she fits right in with that jabbery mouth and mature attitude. Her teacher said the other day she fell asleep on her cot saying "Avery, Avery, Avery." That is her new favorite word and mine too. It's so sweet. Also, this "big girl" has totally dropped her paci addiction too. It was so easy!

Avery loves to sing songs and do the motions, her favorite song right now is "The itsy-bitsy spider." She also loves for us to ask her where her body parts are, she knows belly, ears, eyes, head, feet, and nose. I know I have mentioned she loves to talk, my mom gave me great advice last weekend. She said, "just listen", even though it may drive me crazy one day, especially in the car, "just listen to her!" I pray she doesn't...but, there may be a time where she doesn't want to talk to her mama!

Halloween was so much fun this year. Avery was a ladybug and loved wearing her costume...which was good because she did have to wear it about 4 times! The Rackett's came to stay with us and we went trick-or-treating (only about 4 houses), or as Avery said "trtre". Little Lily was Minnie Mouse and the cutest Minnie Mouse I have seen! These pictures are especially for Nana and Papaw who asked for some Halloween pics.

Finally, just a word of wisdom...teach your little one to hug, because we taught Avery to kiss and now she wants to kiss EVERYONE. Not a good idea! She is blowing kisses...so we try to remind her just to blow a kiss. ;0)

We are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl, who is filled with a lot of spunk. I can't imagine who she got that from! Have a Great Thanksgiving!

Fall Festivities

We are having so much fun this fall with Miss Avery Jane. So far we have gone to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Fall festival at my school, and Perry Fair. We have plans to go to the pumpkin patch in Macon, a Halloween Party, and her day care fall festival. Avery is going to be a ladybug for Halloween, pictures to follow!

If you haven't been to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, you should definitely make plans to go! It's beautiful and a lot of fun for Children!

You're How Tall?
I'm sorry my pictures are not very good, it's very hard to take a picture of Avery these days! She will not stay still for a second.

Our Little Lady Lately!

I know it's been awhile and to tell you the truth, I don't know how much I will be blogging now that Avery is 1. But, I will try here and there to keep everyone updated. Our friend Brandy Darnell asked what Avery has been up to, so I thought I would share!

This fall we are busy, busy! So far Avery has gone to a pumpkin patch and Atlanta Botanical Gardens-Scarecrow exhibit (check it out, it's beautiful). We are taking her to the State fair, school fall festival, Halloween Party, and maybe another pumpkin patch. I love fall and all the festivities!

Avery turned 1 on September 16th and my how she has grown! She talks, walks, and understands almost everything we say! She's a mess, but a sweet little mess.

Avery went to the doctor and weights 22.6lbs (75th percentile) and once again she is off the charts for her height. Yes the doctor looked at me and said, " She is going to be taller then you!" Ha! She wears mostly 12 month clothes and some 18 month pants. Also, during our doctors appointment we were referred to the ENT. I was disappointed, but Avery has to have tubes, her appt. is October 27th. She has basically had an ear infection since July that just will not go away. So, say a little prayer for her and us!
Avery eats EVERYTHING! I even asked the doctor if this was normal, it worried me. He said it was great that she had such a wonderful appetite!

She still sleeps great, 8pm-8am and takes 2 naps a day that range from 1.5-2 hours. At school she only takes one nap...we don't know how because she HAS to have her naps at home!

Avery only walks now and is getting faster by the day! She also loves to talk and tries to mimic everything we say, here is a list of her words, I'm sure I'll forget a few: please, thank-you, momma, Dada, GG, Nana, Pop-pop, Papaw, Hannah, Dog, Cat, Bye, Hey, milk, wa-wa (water), Cheese, Banana, more, bath, nite-nite, uh-oh, hot, home, ball, Lo-Lo (Aunt Lori), up, baby, all done, ruff-ruff (dog sound), duck, cookie, and Avery tries to say Ali and Zoe (twins). We love that she says the words with meaning and understands commands, such as dance, sit down, go nite-nite, come here, drink your milk, put your bow in your hair, and more! It's so cute and so much fun! Avery can also can point to her belly, head, nose, and shoes.

Avery is a true 1 year-old, but she is an amazing little girl and we love her so so much!

Holy 1!!

I know I've only been updating monthly...but I just have to find the time to write. So, I'm writing Avery's 1 year old post 4 days before she's one!

Our angel is one on Thursday and we just can't believe it. We cherish every moment with her and love to see her grow and learn!

I feel like it was yesterday I was in the hospital anxious to meet her! What a blessing she is!

Let's see what our precious Avery has been up to:

She is WALKING! Yes, she did it....she went from a couple steps, to 10 steps, to walking everywhere. We love it!! She is so proud of herself.

Avery is still a chatter box, she is so good at copying everything we say or at least try to. We feel like she learns a new word everyday. Here is her vocabulary as of today: Mom, Momma, Dada, Hey, Bye-Bye, Uh-Oh, Hot, Dog, Cat, please, nana (for Nana, Hannah, and Banana), GG (my mom), Pop-Pop (my dad), baby, Ni-Ni (night-night), whats that (or something that sounds like that :0), ruff-ruff (a dog sound), Ba-Ba (bottle-we are not happy about this one since we are about to take this away), and da (when she sees a duck). I hope I'm not forgetting any words. Avery also loves to throw a ball, play ball with Rusty (our dog), give kisses, and dance. Oh how she loves to dance.

Avery is wearing 12 month clothe, size 3 diaper, and size 3 shoe. I am having so much fun buying her shoes! She still takes 2 naps a day that range from 1 1/2-2 hours each time. Avery's bedtime is 8pm, sometimes 7:30 and then we Add Imagehave to wake her up at 7:30am to go to school. She loves school, her friends, and teachers!

Avery eats ALL table foods, she is becoming a little picky, but we just have to be smart how we feed her. Veggie first, then meat, and last carb. Her favorite fruit is blueberries and favorite veggie is carrots. We started weaning her off her bottles and introducing cows milk...that did not go so well. She liked it, but her body did not. So now, we are trying soy milk and she is doing MUCH better.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our lady Avery and wish her the best birthday ever! We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what her next year holds. Happy 1st birthday Avery Jane!

**Thank you Erin Kay Photography for taking such fabulous pictures for Avery's 1st birthday photo shoot! I posted some of the sneak peak photos!

One month away from 1!

Avery is 11 months old! Her 1st birthday party is already in the works!

Avery has really amazed us this past month! She is such a fast learner and we are so proud of her! This month Avery is still saying more words, this girl loves to talk! Here are all her words: Momma, Dada, Dog, Duck, Bye-bye, Hey, nana, no-no-no (and waves her little finger, I guess she got that from me!), ni-ni, please (all the time), mmm(when something tastes good), and wee. She gives kisses and says Muah, minus the ah! Avery throws her hands in the air when you ask her "how big is Avery?" So cute! She chats all the time and if we say a word that starts with a sound she can say, she will try to copy it! Look for her talking video in another blog!

Avery is very curious and points to things and says "ooo!" We have dance parties all the time, because this girl loves to dance, it's quite a sight to see Kyle, Avery, and I dance!

Our little lady "walked" last weekend. I guess you call it "taking steps", but she walked from one person to another. Crawling is her preferred method, but she is taking steps and standing alone, I know she's going to take off any day now! She still eats all table foods, but I have to be smart how I feed her! Always the meat first, then veggies, then the carb noodle/beans/rice, etc. If I feed it to her all at once she will choose only the noodles/beans, etc. Avery is a GREAT eater!
Taking steps!

Also, this month, Avery gained 2 new cousins! Identical twin girls; Ali and Zoe Diaz! These girls are going to have so much fun...I definitely see t-r-o-u-b-l-e coming in the near future!

Avery is still wearing a size 3 diaper and 12 month clothes. She can wear some 18 month outfits.
Avery's new favorite toy, Lotso!

We love you Avery Jane and can't wait to celebrate your 1st birthday next month. You amaze us daily and bring so much joy to our lives and everyone that surrounds you! Slow down August!

1st Visit to Disney!

Avery experienced Disney for the first time! Being a Morgan, there are many more trips to Orlando to come! Kyle's family LOVES to go to Disney!! Avery did great in the car, we did leave at 6:30pm and she did sleep most the way down there!

The first day we went to Magic Kingdom...the first ride we rode was It's a Small World and Avery absolutely loved it! The whole ride Avery bounced up and down, clapped her hands, and kept saying ball, ball, ball!! It was so much fun to see how excited she was! The next ride we went on was Peter Pan and then Winnie Pooh. After that, Avery was very hungry and tired. Nana strolled Avery around as she napped and Kyle and I got to ride a few rides. We had a great time at Magic Kingdom!!

Riding "It's A Small World"

Day 2 was a pool day! Avery was very stylish in her tutu bathing suit and Kyle and I played a Not so Newly Wed game at the pool! Bad news was we didn't win, good news...Avery still looked precious and loved swimming!!

Not so Newly Wed Game

Day 3- Kyle and I went to Animal Kingdom by ourselves, while Kyle's family babysat! It was so much fun and then we went shopping at the outlets. Once again, Avery napped the entire shopping trip and the outlets were fabulous!

We were going to leave the third night, but we decided to stay in the most comfortable bed ever one more time!! We left very early the next morning and once again Avery did great!

Avery started saying more words in Orlando: she is saying Please or pssss all the time now and Ni Ni (night night). She is also walking all over the place with her little push toy! She's amazing!

Say little prayer for us...I go back to work Thursday. I have had the BEST summer with my little lady and even though I know it will be harder on me then her, I am still so sad to return to work! Is it really almost August? On the bright side...the Twins will be here in less then two weeks!

Ten Months- Really?

10 Months Old!

In two short months our little baby girl will be one year old! I have already begun to plan her party! Every summer I am ready to go back to work, but this year it's just not the case. I'm so sad, because I have LOVED every minute being home with Miss Avery Jane this summer. She has truly become Momma's girl!

We've had a lot of fun this past month; we went to the pool, the lake for the fourth, went to music class, play dates, and visited my grandparents and we know how lucky we are that Avery got a chance to meet her Great-grandparents. It was a real treat for them! We had a lot of fun and Avery did great on her first plane ride. However, for all you moms out there, it is NOT a myth, when the plane takes off and lands make sure your baby is sucking something! We had Avery's paci and she did great on the way to Florida and even did fine on take-off back to Atlanta, but when we landed she was not sucking her paci and began to cry, okay Scream and cry. It broke our hearts, her ears were popping. Overall, she loved to people watch and ginger cookies on the plane!

July 4th!

Visiting family in Florida!

Great-Grandma, Great-Grandpa, and Avery

Avery continues to amaze us and it is truly a blessing to watch a baby grow and learn! We love her more then words can say and tell her daily, well...several times a day!

Here is what she is up to:

Avery is still wearing 12 months and some 18 month clothes. She is still very long! She is now eating all table food and she loves everything!! We are so glad we don't have a picky eater. Oh and has even tried sand, dirt, and dog food this month too! Don't worry she never has a chance to swallow it! ;0)

She still sleeps well and even though we were down to 2 naps a day, lately she has been taking one more cat nap in late afternoon/early evening. I think the heat is wearing her out!

Boy does this girl talk and talk. My grandparents couldn't believe how much she talked. Avery's words are: Momma (all the time now :0)), Dada, Dog, Cat, Ball, Wee, Oh, Bye, Hey, Nana, and Peas or PS (Please, we just started this one!). Avery is our little Miss America and waves to everyone everywhere we go and says "Hey." She loves to give high five, throw her hands in the air when you ask"how big is Avery", give a kiss, and throw a ball back and forth to us! Lately, Avery has developed a crush on Elmo and loves playing with her Elmo's!

Giving a Kiss! So sweet!!(this is a good one, usually her mouth is wide open!)

We all have bets going on when she will walk. I say 11 1/2 months, Kyle says before 11 months, and my mom says 11 months. Avery is cruising, pulling up on everything, and stands alone for several seconds. We think she will take off any day now! Trouble, Trouble!

We love our little 10 month old!! Say a prayer for me when I go back to work in just a couple of weeks! Boo!! Look for my next blog about...................Disney! We are going with Kyle's family next week. I know she's a little young, but we think she will love it!
