What a Weekend....Whew!!

We had such a blast this Memorial Day weekend! However, we did not forget the meaning of Memorial Day and would like to thank the troops for protecting us!

This weekend we went to Lake Oconee and Lake Sinclair! We L-O-V-E the lake! Avery went on her first boat ride and really didn't seem to mind at all! We went back to the pool and yes, she still loves it! We ate at the Gabby's at the Ritz Carlton for my birthday, which is actually June 3rd, but we celebrated early with my family (the last year of my twenties!) Everyone had so much fun! A fabulous Dinner (thank you mom and dad), pictures by the lake, bubbles, and more!

GG and Pop Pop with their grandbabies! Notice-Avery found her bows! Boo!

Such a lovey girl!

Avery absolutely loves playing with her cousin Hannah and will have even more fun when those identical twin girls come in August! That's right, I said identical twin GIRLS! Girls, Girls, Girls!

Sunday, Avery hung out with my family and Kyle and I had some fun on Lake Sinclair with friends! We missed her very much, but it was nice to have some adult time!

Monday, we came back home and Kyle's family came for a cookout. More family time, it was fabulous! We are so blessed to have our family so close and spend time with them. Avery loves playing with the older girls too, they take such good care of her! Oh wait, I didn't mention, Avery said "Mama" today! Several times, but not like she says Dada or Dog...I know it will be a matter of time before she is looking at me and says it! ;0)

Memorial Day weekend was a success and we are absolutely exhausted, hints the 2 hour nap Avery took this afternoon and shut her eyes immediately when I put her to bed! What a great weekend!

"Dog" before "Momma"

Avery is now saying Dog or I should say it sounds more like "Dawg." So, I decided to dedicate a blog to her brother Rusty! He is so kind and gentle with her, even when she pulls his fur! Trying to take a picture with them was difficult. It is very impossible to take a picture of Avery these days, because when I sit her down, she takes off! So, here is the best I could do!

And she's off

Have a great weekend! Happy Memorial Day!

I love my Dada!

Why is it everytime I say "momma" Avery says "Dada?" Dada...Dada....this girl loves to say Dada! She's been saying it for almost a month now, but when she says it now... she looks right at Kyle! Soooo sweet! We love this girl!

Eight Months Already!

I probably say it every month, but I CANNOT believe our precious little girl is 8 months old! Kyle and I say she is our personal entertainment because she makes us laugh constantly and amazes us everyday!

Avery finally has two bottom teeth and it didn't seem to really bother her at all! They are sooo cute when she smiles! I'll try to get a picture! We finally found something she doesn't like to eat...turkey and veg. I can't say I don't blame her, yuck! However, she has started some table foods and loves turkey deli meat, cheese, sucking on fruits, and waffles! When she was about 71/2 months she started to "chew" her food and we knew she was ready for real food!

Avery is crawling, but she isn't that fast yet! She is also pulling up, especially on us! She loves to reach for us and crawl in our laps! LOVE IT! Avery can push up into sitting position and seems to have NO fear! I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing yet! :0)

She is still saying "DaDa" all the time and lots of other babbles! She will say "Ma", but only when she is upset. Avery waves "Hey" and "Bye Bye", sooo cute!!

Avery loves to play in her room! If I need to do some housework, I can leave her in there playing...for now! This past month Avery had a few firsts...celebrated her first Mother's Day with me, went to her first Braves game, had her baby naming, went swimming, and ate table food! We spent a lot of time with family and friends!

First Braves Game

One more day of school and then I get to spend my summer with my precious girl (and of course my husband). I wish I could be a stay-at-home-mommy (maybe one day), but for now I will cherish my summer days with my sweet Avery Jane! Happy 8 Months baby girl!

My First Mother's Day Weekend Top 5

I had an amazing First Mother's Day and I hope all my family and friends did as well! This day was different this year, because instead of celebrating just my mom, I was celebrated too. Everyone made it so special for me! It's bittersweet that my First Mother's day is coming to an end, but it was fun and I wanted to share the top 5 things that happened!

We went to my parent's house and all my family was there: little sister Lori, older sister Melissa (pregnant with identical twin girls!), Brother-in-law Jeff, and niece Hannah. It was so fun celebrating with everyone!

All the Girls!

Top 5:

1. On my first Mother's Day I was up partying until 4 am...just kidding. However, the 4 am part is still true! Avery was up coughing pretty much the whole night, of course she was still asleep, but sleeping in the same room as us, it kept ME up (not Kyle), but don't you worry, I made sure he knew everytime I got out of bed to check on her! UGH! I finally kicked Kyle out of the bed and put Avery in the bed with me so I could prop her up and then I remembered at 4 am that a nurse once told me to put baby vicks rub on their feet and it would do the trick. Sure enough, it worked and we finally got some sleep! Don't worry, Avery isn't sick, we've brought her to the doctor twice in the last month and they said it's just allergies!

2. Avery is officially crawling all over the place! On my First Mother's Day weekend Avery put those knees and feet under her and crawled! No more rolling around or army crawling, we can't turn our backs for a minute with this wild woman!

3. About 2 weeks ago we started giving Avery cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts, etc. She LOVES it all. But, on my First Mother's Day weekend, Avery actually fed herself a puff. It was precious!!

4. On my First Mother's Day weekend we brought Avery swimming. We have a water baby! She L-O-V-E-D it! Splashing, kicking, yelling, talking! Avery was definitely a show off!

5. My family made my first Mother's Day weekend so special! The cards and presents were wonderful and meant so much to me! Kyle did a fabulous job making it special too! He bought me a new cell phone with internet (I've been wanting for awhile) and a gift from Avery. It was so neat...he had her handprint framed for me, sadly enough I didn't have this already! Mother's Day morning he even had Avery hand me a card, it was so sweet, even if she tried to eat it!

Being a mother is so rewarding and there is no feeling like it. A mother's love is so precious and I thank god everyday for my angel baby! I want to thank my mom for being such a wonderful role-model and a best friend. I hope I can be just as fabulous as you!

Don't say I didn't tell you so!

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking....but I decided to take Avery, who let me remind you is almost 8 months old, to the hair salon with me. BIG MISTAKE! She was fine for the first 5 minutes and then it all went down hill from there!

I thought I was super mom and brought everything I could think of to keep her busy; puffs, toys, bottle, sippy cup, paci, and lovey. Ha! After a few minutes of whining, I sat her in my lap. Nope, that didn't last either. She never cried, just busy busy busy!! The only time she was "quiet" was when someone was using the hair dryer. So, lesson learned, reschedule your hair appointment if daddy has plans to play golf. Just don't do it!!!

Avery went from doing this during my hair appointments...

To this....Sweet, smart, silly, sassy girl!
