On your mark...get set...GO!

This past weekend Avery started "crawling" She is basically doing the army crawl. She will go from sitting position, to her belly, roll all over the place, and then if she sees something she wants she'll scoot, crawl, army crawl, whatever you want to call it, she is MOVING! We were not prepared for this!

On your mark...get set...GO!!!

Finally!

I have finally figured out this blog spot! Our blog definitely needs some work...but I did it!

I tried another blog, but of course I filled it up to it's maximized capacity and I couldn't add any more info... unless I paid! So....here I go again.

Thank you Amy Tippins and Tessa Hobbs for inspiring me to create a blog. I hope I can keep up with it and record Avery's every move! (Sadly, it's easy to forget).

Thanks for visiting our blog!

Someone is Seven Months already!

Avery is 7 months old today! We can not believe all the new things she is doing!Avery is scooting backwards and believe me, if she wants something, she is going to move around in circles, roll, or get on those knees to get it! I'm sure it's only a matter of time before she is crawling! Avery is reaching up for Kyle and I to pick her up. He LOVES it, she has him wrapped around her little finger! She is taking steps, with us holding her of course and loves doing that while chasing Rusty around. That is Kyle's other favorite game! Avery will pull up with support from us and is sitting all on her own! One of Avery's favorite games is peek-a-boo, she laughs every time (of course you have to get your voice high-pitched and loud!)
Talking is a must for this little girl and she loves to say "babababa." (we of course think she is saying "bye bye" and she is saying "dada." Kyle lights up everytime she says it! Now, we have to work on Momma! It's so sweet, she also likes to say "aaahhhh....." as long and loud as she can! She thinks that is hilarious! Her laugh is contagious and the most precious sound, music to our ears!

Avery eats all kinds of foods (she's not picky)! She still naps about three times a day, I know we should cut that third cat nap out, but it's only 20 minutes and she really needs it! She still sleeps from 8-7:30 and we are so thankful! It's bittersweet, but when I rock her at night she will not let me cradle her like a baby, she puts her head on my chest. I've recently started singing to her while I'm rocking her and in the matter of minutes she falls asleep. I sing "Amazing Grace", but I change the words to "Avery Jane." She LOVES it!
We love our little lady and can't wait to see what she learns this month!

Happy 7 Months Avery Jane!

A Very Merry 1/2 Birthday!

Our lady is 6 months old! Avery is such a joy in our lives and makes us laugh everyday! We are SOOO in love!!She is FULL of personality and this girl knows exactly what she wants! She smiles at everyone! She is giggling and it melts our hearts! Avery likes to watch everyone and is very busy! Avery is rolling over in both directions, sitting up (for the most part), pulling up while holding my hand, and loves to play and play and play! She loves bath time and her sleep. We are so lucky to have a baby that loves her beauty sleep. She still takes 3 naps a day (one is a cat nap) and sleeps from 8:30pm-7:30am. Avery sleeps with her lovey every night , I think that's why she sleeps so well (Thank you Brian and Ali). I rock her to sleep every night, not because she needs it, because Momma loves it!

Avery is also a fabulous eater! We have been introducing baby food and I am trying to home make some of it...Avery has tried peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce, and prunes. She loves them all! She can also hold her own bottle and is very proud doing it.We think she's going to be model! Avery is 16.5 lbs. and over 27 inches long. She has the longest legs and is wearing 9 month clothes and 6-12 months. I LOVE to go to consignment sales and load up on some cute clothes! We thank god everyday for our little angel! Happy 6 months Avery Jane!

Avery Jane

Avery Jane is our little Lady and we are loving every minute with her! She is 5 months old and I am just starting this blog. Naming Avery was interesting; Kyle and I bought a book and read a million names it seemed. We knew her middle name would be Jane after his Aunt Jane and the initial J also after my great-grandmother Jeanette. We both loved the name Avery and the A is in remembrance of my great uncle Albert.

Here is a little about her first few months:9/16- Kyle and I checked into the hospital to be induced at 2 AM. Little did I know I was already contracting, I just didn't feel them. By 10AM I dilated to 3cm by myself and was very ready for my epidural. I didn't get the epidural until 12pm and it was a horrible experience. It took them 45 minutes and three sticks to finally get the epidural in. After all that, it worked for about 1 hour and then I began to feel the contractions again. I was in labor for 15 hours and did not dilate past 3 cm. So, after a lot of tears and decision making, we decided to go ahead with the c-section since the epidural was not working and I wasn't dilating. Avery was born at 8pm. She weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 20 inches long! She was so alert and nursed right away! Kyle and I couldn't be happier to have a beautiful healthy girl!Avery is a wonderful baby! At two weeks Avery was sleeping 5 hours at night and by 6 weeks she was sleeping through the night!

At 3 months Avery began going to sleep at 8:30pm and sleeps until 8am! Avery also naps! She used to nap 4-5 times a day and now she takes 3 naps a day! She eats every 3-4 hours. I breastfed exclusively for 3 1/2 months and then began supplementing formula because Avery had reflux. She takes previcid for the reflux and she is doing much better! At 4 1/2 months we started rice cereal and Avery loves it! I decided to make her baby food at home and we started with sweet potatoes. Avery has only eaten them twice and isn't quite sure if she likes them yet! Avery first smiled at 5 1/2 weeks and it melts our hearts every time she smiles! She is starting to giggle and "talk" very loudly, especially when she is on the changing table or to little people (children)! Avery loves staying busy and playing with us! She has rolled over from her belly to her back and is trying to sit up! She loves to stand with us holding her of course and began doing that at 8 weeks! It is so fun to watch her grow and meet all her milestones! We count our blessings everyday to have a happy, healthy, beautiful baby!
